PAVEAIR uses the following rules to estimate pavement condition for a condition analysis:
• If a later inspection condition is lower than the earlier inspection condition, interpolate linearly between points.
• If a later inspection condition (including construction inspections) is higher than the earlier inspection condition, use the model to estimate deterioration after the inspection and before the increase in condition. The model is shifted horizontally to intersect the condition at the most recent inspection.
• If the inspection condition is the most recent one available for that section, use the family curve to estimate the future condition.
Examples of how PAVEAIR estimates conditions are illustrated in the following figures.
