SCI is a measure of the damage to a pavement caused by traffic and loading. Similar to PCI, it is a numerical index between 0 and 100, where 100 is the best possible condition. It is calculated using the PCI procedures defined in ASTM D5340 using a subset of the PCI distresses:
• Alligator Cracking
• Rutting
• Corner Break
• Linear Cracking
• Shattered Slab
• Shrinkage Cracking
• Joint Spalling
• Corner Spalling
